Ten years after Simplicity launched, our first 10-year KiwiSaver performance results are in – and there's some great news for our members.

In the latest independent KiwiSaver investment survey by Melville Jessup Weaver (MJW), our KiwiSaver Growth Fund ranked first in its category for 10-year returns, delivering an average annual return of 9.9% after fees and before tax.

Our KiwiSaver Balanced Fund also performed strongly, ranking second in its category, with an average annual return of 7.4%.

The survey compares selected funds from New Zealand's 15 largest KiwiSaver schemes, representing around 93% of the KiwiSaver market by assets under management.

Low fees, long-term investing

When we launched Simplicity in 2016, we believed investing for retirement should be simpler and more affordable. That belief hasn't changed. As a nonprofit, we focus on keeping fees low, so more of your money stays invested and has the opportunity to grow over time.

We also believe in investing for the long term, with diversified investments around the world and a growing focus on opportunities here in New Zealand – helping build homes, support Kiwi businesses and strengthen our economy.

These results are an encouraging milestone for our members and for the approach we've taken over the past decade.

Of course, markets will rise and fall, and rankings will change. What's important is staying focused on the long term, keeping costs low and making decisions that support our members' financial futures.
