Upside mentoring v2

At the Simplicity Foundation we support charities under our four giving pillars of the Environment, Youth Development, Education and Homelessness/Hunger.

We focus our Youth Development giving on supporting charities working to improve the futures of rangatahi in Aotearoa. We currently do this by backing programmes that support youth mentoring, employability and work transition focusing on those young people who have the greatest challenges to thrive.

Because of limitations on our resources, although we value the important work they do, we do not currently support charities providing youth counselling or mental health support programmes.

As part of our 2023 giving programme and to help support regional and/or innovative programmes we have allocated $100,000 for a round of one-off grants between $5,000 to $20,000 in the youth development sector.

We would love to hear from projects throughout Aotearoa New Zealand focused on youth mentoring and transition pathways to career and/or tertiary education or training.

If you’re a registered charity and would like to apply for some funding, please send an email to foundation@simplicity.kiwi telling us in 500 words or less (written or video format):
- Who you are
- What you’re aiming to do
- How our funding can help

We would love it if you could also include a short message from a current Simplicity member telling us why they support the project.

Applications close on Thursday 31 August 2023 and we’re aiming to announce the final grants by the middle of October.

We appreciate everyone who takes the time to apply. Sadly, we won’t be able to support all projects.
