My favourite joke about economists is they've predicted 11 of the last 3 recessions. And right now they seem to be falling over themselves to paint the bleakest future for the economy.

But I think they're wrong, again. We're in for a recession for sure, but it's likely to be shorter than they think, and long term the future for the economy and jobs is very bright indeed. Here are 10 reasons to feel optimistic, as published in my May 5th column for Stuff.
