In its latest round of giving, the Simplicity Foundation donated $355,000 to five charity partners working in youth and community development; and made a $100,000 donation under the environmental pillar to Revive our Gulf, a Auckland-based mussel restoration project with national significance.

The Simplicity Foundation offered ongoing support to the Graeme Dingle Foundation with another year of funding-  $60,000 - for their Career Navigator Programme. The funds will be distributed where they are most needed across 17 schools and 2 community-based programmes in Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Marlborough, Rotorua, Southland, Waikato and Wellington regions.

Recreate received a third donation of $80,000 for continued support of MOXIE XP (Meaningful Opportunities Crossing Into Employment), a programme that aims to facilitate pathways to paid employment for young people with disabilities around New Zealand. To date the programme has had high success rates in transitioning the young people on it to ongoing paid employment and is developing a broader support network across participating employers and whānau.

The Foundation also offered ongoing support for a group of students in the I Have a Dream Programme in Whangārei, now in Year 8. The $35,000 funding helps provide the "dreamers" with a long-term adult advocate or mentor for their year group who is focused on their well-being and education, and offers wrap-around support for all the students and their whānau. The Trustees have also agreed to an additional one-off $50,000 donation to help support IHAD's intention to expand the delivery of its programme into other communities in Te Tai Tokerau, subject to additional funding targets being met.

A third year of support was also given to Take2's in-prison IT training initiative. The $80,000 donation will assist with the continued delivery of its community-based learning centre and tech lab social enterprise in Auckland. This life-changing programme continues to enjoy success and broad industry support, with its graduates being employed in some of NZ's biggest tech businesses.

Alongside a core group of other funders, the Simplicity Foundation continued its support for The Centre for Sustainable Finance and their Thriving Communities Aotearoa (TCA) initiative which aims to establish a one-stop platform to support equitable access to essential services for families facing financial challenges.

A one-off grant of $100,000 was made to the Revive our Gulf Hauraki Gulf mussel reef restoration project. The funds will support the ongoing operation of the project and its goal to seed 1,000 sq. kms of mussel beds in the Hauraki Gulf and help contribute to the revitalisation of that marine environment. While this is an Auckland based project the outcomes will have national impact, sharing insights to other location specific projects, as well as marine restoration practices more broadly.
