As we endure this difficult time together, it's more important than ever to look after our most vulnerable.

Fortunately, that's what the Simplicity Charitable Trust is designed to do, and it can help quickly.

Today, the Trust is donating $50,000 to charities working at the coal face of this crisis.

New Zealand, regrettably, has one of the highest rates of domestic violence in the OECD, and self-isolation will put some already strained families under intense pressure. To help, the Trust is donating $20,000 to the Women's Refuge.

Our country's City Missions are also facing increasing demand. Another $20,000 in total will go to the Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch City Missions.

And $10,000 will go to the Salvation Army, another longstanding charity dedicated to helping those most in need.

Total donations from the Simplicity Charitable Trust now exceed $850,000, something we can all feel proud of.
