The recent introduction of a taxation bill in Parliament was designed to tidy up aspects of charging GST. But it included a bombshell, charging 15% GST on the fees charged by KiwiSaver and managed fund providers.

The problem with this, Sam Stubbs explains, is that the political party that set up KiwiSaver is now eroding the very incentives that have made it so successful.
