ANZ Bank joins cyclone relief efforts - is it really enough?

As a nonprofit social enterprise, Simplicity has always donated 15% of our fees to the Simplicity Foundation, which distributes the funds to NZ charities and causes that need it most.

That's why we've been able to donate $300,000 to disaster relief efforts throughout NZ in February, following the devastation caused by the flooding and Cyclone Gabrielle. While other banks, including ANZ, have made pledges of their own, our MD Sam Stubbs has publicly voiced the question of whether this is really enough. We believe that true corporate social responsibility isn't just making a token gesture, but actually stepping up and doing our part to make a difference in the world.
