Simplicity launches low cost NZ share and bond funds

Published on 05/04/2018

Recently we've been asked to offer funds that focus on the NZ share and bond markets.

We loved this idea, as we can manage our KiwiSaver and investment funds more efficiently too.

So we've launched two new investment funds, one for NZ shares, the other for NZ bonds.

See April 5th, 2018 NZ Herald story here.

The NZ Share Index fund invests in the companies in the S&P/NZX 50 index. The NZ Bond Index fund invests in government and investment-grade corporate bonds tracking the Bloomberg NZ Govt. bond index.

Both charge an administration fee of $30 p.a., and 0.1% p.a. management fee ie. $1 for every $1,000 saved.

As with all our funds, there are no entry or exit costs, or any hidden fees. The minimum investment in each fund is $10,000.

See interest.co.nz story comparing our new products to Smartshares ETFs here.

The management fees are significantly lower than any competitor and reflect what it costs us to manage, no more.

Now we have almost $400m under management, the benefits of scale are starting to kick in. We want our members to get these benefits while giving 15% of our management fees to charity.

The funds are open to trusts, community organisations and wholesale investors too. We hope to save them millions in fees over time.

We want NZ’ers to benefit from the magic of compounding returns, whilst avoiding the tyranny of compounding fees.
