Your Prescribed Investor Rate (PIR) is rate of tax that you pay on the money earned from your KiwiSaver investment and other managed funds that are a PIE (Portfolio Investment Entity).
How much you pay depends on your income for the last 2 years and also the amount of income on your investments in PIE(s). Most people do not have enough money invested in PIEs to change their PIR bracket. If you do earn significant PIE income, please refer to Inland Revenue’s website
